The All Progressives Congress (APC) Women’s Wing, on Monday, kicked off its market-to-market campaign across Ovia North East and Egor local government areas of Edo State.
The campaign, aimed at mobilizing support for the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, gained momentum as key party figures visited the Okada and Egor markets.
Ambassador Osaretin Idahosa, wife of the incoming Deputy Governor, and Dr. Mary Alile, APC National Women Leader, led the charge, addressing a large crowd of market women and youths.
Ambassador Idahosa called on the women to turn out in large numbers for the upcoming election on September 21st. She stressed that Senator Okpebholo and Hon. Idahosa are the leaders capable of alleviating the struggles of Edo people and spearheading the much-needed revival of the state.
“We believe in change, and this change will bring about a better life for everyone in Edo State. Vote for the APC and be part of the transformation,” Ambassador Osaretin Idahosa said.
She also highlighted the party’s focus on creating a business-friendly environment, youth empowerment, improved healthcare, and ensuring the well-being of the elderly. Furthermore, she vowed to prioritise girl-child education and women’s welfare in the state.
Dr. Mary Alile also echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the APC candidates are committed to boosting infrastructure development and improving the overall living conditions in Edo State.
“Let’s work together to transform Edo into a model state. Your votes for Senator Okpebholo and Hon. Idahosa will make this a reality,” she urged.
The campaign took a more personal turn as Ambassador Osaretin Idahosa mingled with market sellers, purchased food items, and distributed gifts to physically challenged individuals, children, and women at the event.
The market-to-market campaign is part of APC’s strategy to galvanize grassroots support ahead of the State’s governorship election.
