Edo Government Dismisses Claims Over Transition Committee Sitting Allowances

The Edo State Government has addressed recent speculations surrounding the sitting allowances of members of the state’s Transition Committee.


In a statement, the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Osa Nehikhare, who is also a member of the committee, clarified that the reports making rounds are inaccurate.

Nehikhare stressed that the inaugural meeting of the Transition Committee was both productive and cordial, with a clear sense of purpose.

He noted, “At the meeting, we established a shared agenda and set the methodology for our work. It was a constructive session, marked by a mutual commitment to serve the people of Edo State.”

He further assured that the committee remains focused on its responsibilities, committed to transparency and collaboration in carrying out its duties for the good of the community.

The Commissioner urged the public to disregard any unfounded claims about allowances, reaffirming that the committee’s work is aimed at ensuring a smooth and effective transition in the State’s governance.
