The Edo State Football Association, in conjunction with the Grassroots Youth Football Development League, has confirmed that all is set for the Edo Showcase 2026, a three-day U-18 invitational tournament aimed at identifying, developing and providing opportunities for promising young football talents.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9, and run through Friday, September 11, 2026, at the EaglesWings Sports Complex, Utagban Road, Off Airport Road, Benin City, Edo State.
As part of the activities surrounding the showcase, Alhaji Gafar Lameed, Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, will arrive in Edo State tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. as a Special Guest and Scout. His presence underscores the importance of the showcase as a platform for talent identification and the development of the next generation of footballers.
The participating teams are fully set for the competition, with Edo Central and Edo North already in camp in Benin City ahead of the opening day. The remaining teams are also expected to complete their preparations as the countdown to kick-off concludes.

The Association welcomes all participating teams, coaches, scouts, football stakeholders and enthusiasts to Benin City for three days of exciting youth football and talent discovery.
