The Edo State Police Command has moved to deepen its security collaboration with the Nigerian Army following a strategic engagement between the Commissioner of Police, CP Patrick Daaor, and the Commander, 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General A. O. Balogun, in Benin City.
CP Daaor paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Benin City, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen the existing partnership between both security agencies in maintaining peace and protecting lives and property across Edo State.
The Commissioner was received by Brigadier General Balogun alongside senior officers of the Brigade.
During the visit, CP Daaor and the Brigade Commander held a security engagement focused on the prevailing security situation in the state and strategies to further improve inter-agency operations.
Key areas discussed included intelligence sharing, enhanced inter-agency cooperation, joint operational strategies and coordinated responses to emerging security threats across Edo.
The engagement underscored the determination of the Police and Army to maintain a coordinated security architecture capable of preventing crime, responding swiftly to threats, protecting critical infrastructure and guaranteeing the safety of residents.
The two security institutions also reaffirmed the importance of sustained collaboration in tackling security challenges and maintaining peace and stability across the state.
The visit featured the presentation and exchange of gifts between CP Daaor and Brigadier General Balogun, symbolising the cordial relationship, mutual respect and strong institutional partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army.
The development further signals a renewed commitment by the two agencies to work jointly in strengthening security operations and safeguarding communities across Edo State.
