The federal lawmaker representing Orhionmwon/Uhummwode federal constituency, Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Adesuwa Osawaru, has successfully organized a two-day Free Medical Outreach.
The event, themed “Unmasking the Silent Killer: Take Control of Hypertension Today,” took place in Abudu and Ehor, the administrative headquarters of Orhionmwon and Uhummwode local government areas of Edo South, Edo State.
The outreach saw an overwhelming turnout of residents and indigenes, who flocked to the venues to benefit from the free healthcare services provided.
The programme focused on raising awareness about hypertension, a condition often referred to as a “silent killer” due to its lack of obvious symptoms and its potential to cause severe health issues if left untreated.
Hon. Osawaru, who is deeply committed to the health, empowerment, and welfare of his constituents, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s success and reaffirmed his dedication to serving the people.
He pledged to make the Free Medical Outreach an annual event, ensuring that healthcare services are accessible to all, especially those in rural and underserved communities.
“This outreach is a fulfillment of my campaign promises to prioritize the health and well-being of the good people of Orhionmwon and Uhummwode,” said Hon. Osawaru.
“I am committed to bringing healthcare closer to our people and ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to accessing essential medical services.”
The initiative is part of Hon. Osawaru’s broader efforts to improve the quality of life for his constituents, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to addressing critical issues such as healthcare access and community welfare.
