Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Nigerian singer and actress, Onyeka Onwenu, who passed away on July 30, 2024, at the age of 72.
Onwenu, a legendary figure in the Nigerian music and film industry, tragically slumped after finishing a performance at a birthday party. She was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
During his visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu shared heartfelt words and photos of his time with Onwenu’s family. In a statement, he expressed his deep sorrow and admiration for Onwenu’s contributions to the arts:
