President Tinubu has admitted that Nigerians are facing hardship under his government’s reforms, saying he too has “lost sleep and weight” because of the country’s situation.
Speaking after emerging as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 election, Tinubu said he understands the pains Nigerians are going through but remains committed to fixing the country.
“I know what it takes to reform this nation we met in tatters. If you’ve lost sleep, I’ve lost some too. If you’ve lost weight, I’ve lost some too,” he said.
He added that despite the challenges, he asked Nigerians for the job in 2022 and must now deliver on his promises.
Tinubu also thanked APC members for trusting him again and described the party’s primary election as peaceful and encouraging for Nigeria’s democracy.
