Insecurity: Ex-SUG President advocates prayer as panacea to kidnapping, banditry

The need for Believers to pray fervently for the country has again been stressed.

This was the submission of a former Student Union Government (SUG) President of the College of Agriculture, Ighioriakhi, Agenebode Campus and training Pastor, Comrade Augustine Ikessi Anomhe in his message entitled ” the Christian responsibility in a time like this”.

Comrade Anomhe, gave the admonition on Sunday 27th of June 2021 at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, fugar, in his exortation as part of his assessment as a student of the Victory International Bible Seminary fugar.

According to him, there was need for the Believer to pray for one another in a time like this where Kidnapping, Banditry, Armed Robbery and Ritualisim had become the order of the day in a bid to get quick money.

Comrade Anomhe, said,the Christian has four major duties to perform which include supporting one another especially the weak through prayers ( Romans 15: 1), Pleasing one another irrespective of faith ( Rom 15: 2) ,( Cor 9 : 19 _ 22), accepting one another as members of the same body of Christ (Rom 15 : 7) and helping one another especially the needy and the poor (Galatians 6 : 6) and (Ecclesiastes 11: 6), adding that we should show our seeds in the morning so that we can have good harvest in the evening.

He asserted that love is the Vehicle to Heaven stressing that without love no one would see Heaven. He added that there was need for the Christian to display the Christlike attitude towards mankind as taught in the Holy Bible.

The Student Pastor, further said, that the only way to change any bad situation is to pray and show genuine love, adding that when a man loves his neighbour, he would not plan any evil against him.

While quoting from the letter of Apostle Paul to the Romans in (Romans 15: 7), the former SUG President maintained that the Christian should show Christlike attitude towards his neighbours.

In an interview with newsmen, the Acting Director of Studies of Fugar Bible Seminary, Evang. Dr. Jerome Ileile urged the people of the area to take advantage of the opportunity to obtain the School’s forms to get acquainted with the Knowledge of God
