The newly appointed Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Segun Aina, has resolved more than 5,000 pending complaints in just five days, signalling a major push to improve the Board’s service delivery.
The complaints, which had remained unresolved, involved difficulties with profile code creation, biometric failures, payment issues, inappropriate examination centres, e-PINs, technical glitches and problems uploading required documents.
According to a statement by JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, the development followed Prof. Aina’s decision to strengthen the Board’s Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) Unit and ensure faster resolution of candidates’ complaints.
In a striking move, the Registrar reportedly relocated his seat to the SERVICOM Unit, allowing him to personally observe the challenges confronting candidates and other clients and accelerate the resolution of outstanding cases.
Among the cases addressed were complaints from candidates who could no longer access telephone numbers previously used to register with JAMB, biometric authentication failures and payment-related difficulties.
The Board also tackled complaints concerning examination venues, e-PINs, technical problems and difficulties uploading documents.
JAMB said the Registrar’s hands-on approach underscores his commitment to using strategic communication and direct engagement with candidates to reposition the Board and improve its services.
The move also reinforces the principle that candidates should receive services commensurate with the fees they pay, as the new JAMB administration moves to make responsiveness and accountability central to its operations.
