A sober incident has sparked conversations online after a woman reportedly lost her life following her decision to decline a blood transfusion due to her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness.

The tragic news was shared on social media by a user identified as @MrsZanga, who disclosed that the deceased was her cousin and a mother of three young children, the youngest being just four years old.

“My cousin died this morning, leaving behind 3 kids. The youngest is 4yo🥲 What killed her? She refused blood transfusions because she’s a Jehovah’s Witness 💔💔💔😭😭😭,” the heartbroken post read.

According to Jehovah’s Witness doctrine, receiving blood transfusions is prohibited, a belief rooted in their interpretation of certain Biblical passages. The late mother reportedly adhered to this tenet even in a life-threatening situation, ultimately leading to her passing.
