It was a gathering of who is who at the expansive palace of the Onotare of Ozalla Kingdom as an illustrious daughter of Ozalla, Dr. Uyi Oduwa-Malaka was conferred a chieftaincy title as the “Uzoyare of Ozalla”, by the Onotare of Ozalla, His Royal Highness, Abraham Aikpokpo Akhigbe (Okpamen VIII), describing her as an illustrious daughter of the land who has contributed greatly to the advancement and development of the Ozalla Kingdom.
In a congratulatory message, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, described Dr. Oduwa-Malaka as “an embodiment of honour, wisdom, integrity and boldness, one who is deeply loved and admired.” The Governor said, her conferment as the Uzoyare of Ozalla Kingdom remains a proof that her core values of hard work, dedication, uprightness and selfless service did not go unnoticed.
Similarly, the State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Philip Shaibu, added that, Oduwa-Malaka is an ideal woman, virtuous wife and a responsible mother, whose track records of performance and achievements speak volume, adding that, “I have no doubt that your new status as a chieftaincy title holder in the famous Ozalla Kingdom will further motivate you in advancing the frontiers of an egalitarian society for the good of all.”
In his view, the Chairman Police Service Commission (PSC) and Inspector General of Police (Rtd), Dr. Solomon Arase, stated that the honour was well deserved as it’s a confirmation of her philanthropic gestures and excellent human relations which Oduwa-Malaka has been known for over the years.
Former Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Donald Omotayo Alasoadura, pointed out that, her dedication to duties was exemplified when she worked with 8th Assembly Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources of which Senator Donald was the Chairman, stressing that, “she exhibited her love for her state, Edo and Nigeria when she worked with utter dedication and commitment with my committee on the crafting of the Petroleum Industry Bill (now an Act).
” May your reign as Uzoyare of Ozalla Kingdom bring unprecedented peace and development to the kingdom.”
Also, the immediate past Chairman of Owan West and Executive Director of Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Frank Ilaboya at the Palace of the Onotare of Ozalla, described Chief Oduwa-Malaka as a worthy daughter of the local government, noting that, “we have no doubt that you will always make us proud as this royal recognition did not come to us a surprise.”
Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, Edo State House of Assembly member-elect, in his characteristic style, poured glowing tribute on the beneficiary of the chieftaincy title, emphasizing that, it’s a call to do more for her people.
Similarly, the Council Liaison Officer, Hon. Dickson Ahonsi, who arrived the palace at exactly 10:00 am, while congratulating her, lauded the Onotare of Ozalla for the recognition, assuring that it will certainly lead to progress and development of the Kingdom.
