The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow allegedly used by kidnappers to hold the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her two children captive.
The building, located in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun-Anaye Road area of Ibadan, was pulled down on Monday as part of the state’s crackdown on kidnapping and other violent crimes.
Officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation carried out the demolition exercise, accompanied by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force who visited the site during ongoing investigations.
The property was reportedly used as a hideout by the kidnappers who abducted Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.
The victims were seized by gunmen at the Elewura area of Challenge, Ibadan, on June 3, 2026, sparking concern among residents and security agencies.
Following intensified security operations, the mother and her children were rescued on June 6.
The demolition is being viewed as a strong signal of the Oyo State Government’s resolve to deny criminal elements safe havens and strengthen the fight against kidnapping across the state.
