PDP Appoints Alhaji Yayari Ahmed Mohammed as Acting National Chairman

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Alhaji Yayari Ahmed Mohammed as its Acting National Chairman.

This decision follows the suspension of Ambassador Illiya Damagum from the role and was made by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, in line with the party’s constitution.

The appointment of Alhaji Yayari Ahmed Mohammed is effective immediately, according to a statement released by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary.
In the press release, the NWC called for unity among all party organs, leaders, stakeholders, and members, urging them to remain focused as the party navigates this critical period.

As part of its ongoing internal processes, the PDP is gearing up for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, scheduled to take place on October 24, 2024. The meeting is expected to address key issues and chart the way forward for the party ahead of upcoming political activities.

The NWC’s message emphasised the importance of cohesion within the party as it prepares for this crucial gathering, and reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the PDP’s principles and advancing its goals.
