Police declare two notorious armed robbers wanted in Edo

The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Foluso Adebanjo has declared wanted two suspected notorious armed robber, Ikalumen Philemon 22-years old and Ahmed Sodiq 23-years old for masterminding various robbery and kidnapping attacks in the locality.

Adebanjo made the declaration at a news conference in Auchi, Edo following another robbery attack by a five man gang of armed robbers led by Philemon their kingpin on the 4th of May 2014.

Adebanjo said that two out of the five robbers identified as Okoh Amos, 23-years old and Otono Friday 22-years old were killed by the police at about 1:30pm along the Auchi-Okene-Highway during a shoot out with the police with Philemon and Sodiq escaped.

According to him, one Ayo Usman aged 23-years old arrested by the police.

“Usman was taken to the Auchi Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force for interrogation were a hot iron was place on his chest, took his teeth out with a plier, and took off off one of his toes with a plier before he later confessed to the crime.,” the CP said.

Usman, the arrested suspect, while confessing to journalists said that they were members of a notorious syndicate of armed robbers terrorizing Auchi and its environ.

Usman said “We are five man robbery gang with Philemon being our ring leader.

“We use to carryout our robbery operations along the Auchi-Okene-Highway, we normal stand on the highway and rob people, we also stop cars, buses, trailers and we are heavily armed with many confiscated weapons.

“We belonged to a satanic cult and we are five man gang of armed robber with two killed in a gunfire, two escape while myself was arrested.” Usman said.

Adebanjo said that Philemon born on 4th of April 1992 and Sodiq born on 6th of March 1991, are both at large, adding that the command had declared them wanted for several robbery and kidnapping cases in the community.

“The Nigerian Police Force have declared wanted one Philemon and Sodik in connection with the robbery incident that took place at about 1:30pm at Auchi-Okene-Highway on 4th of May 2014.

The commissioner of police said Philemon who is a dreaded armed robbery kingpin have been fingered in all the criminality that had taken place in the community ranging from arm robbery, kidnapping and cultism, adding that the police command want Philemon dead or alive.

The commisioner of police said a sum of N5million ransom would be offered to anybody with useful information on the whereabout of Philemon and Sodiq, adding that the state command of the police have lunch a manhunt on the two suspected criminals.
