Tragedy In Benin: 30-Year-Old Interior Decorator Esohe Aigbe Killed After Helping Friend Decorate Funeral Venue For Free

A 30-year-old woman, identified as Esohe Aigbe, has died after she was reportedly attacked by unidentified persons in Benin City, Edo State.

According to relatives, Esohe had gone to Ujo Street in the Ogida area to assist a friend in decorating a funeral venue free of charge.

After completing the job, she reportedly remained within the area when she was suddenly attacked with machetes which was used to cut her body into pieces.

Family members said the assault left her with severe injuries, and she was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) for treatment. Despite efforts by medical personnel to save her life, she later died from her injuries.
Her remains have since been deposited in the mortuary.

Relatives described Esohe as a quiet, focused and hardworking decorator who was well known for handling funeral and event decorations in the area.

They have called on security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure those responsible are arrested and prosecuted.

As of the time of filing this report, no arrest had been made and no suspect had been identified.
