The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Mr. Festus Alenkhe as Acting Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), following the redeployment of Mr. Suleiman Aladeh to the Edo State Orientation Agency.
The development was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.
According to the statement, Aladeh has been redeployed to the Edo State Orientation Agency, where he will serve as the pioneer Director General with immediate effect.
The state government said Alenkhe will oversee the operations of the Edo Broadcasting Service pending the appointment of a substantive Managing Director.
The government explained that the changes form part of ongoing administrative adjustments aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing efficiency and optimising resource management across key sectors of the state administration.
The statement noted that Aladeh’s redeployment reflects the government’s confidence in his professional competence and ability to drive the mandate of the Orientation Agency, which plays a strategic role in civic engagement, value reorientation and public communication across the state.
It further commended Aladeh for his contributions to public service broadcasting during his tenure at EBS, describing his stewardship as one marked by dedication and commitment to institutional development.
The government wished him success in his new assignment as pioneer Director General of the Orientation Agency.
On Alenkhe’s appointment, the state government said the move underscores Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted operations at EBS and sustaining the professional broadcasting standards for which the station is known.
Alenkhe is expected to provide leadership for the station while maintaining quality service delivery pending the deployment of a substantive Managing Director.
