Dr. Bright Enabulele, the Accord Party governorship candidate for the upcoming Edo State elections, has addressed the confusion surrounding his candidacy and his running mate, Kennedy Iyere.

During a press briefing on Wednesday. He reaffirmed that he is the true governorship candidate of the party and expressed gratitude to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for endorsing him as their preferred candidate.

Enabulele cleared the air on the perceived dispute with Iyere over the party’s ticket, stating, “If there’s any disparity, it should be addressed in court. Kennedy Iyere has not been part of the campaign since the primary, and I remain the candidate.”

He stressed that any attempt to create confusion over the candidacy is unfounded and serves only to marginalize the party’s efforts. He further reiterated that he would remain focused on his campaign to ensure Edo State gets the leadership it deserves.

Enabulele, whose campaign has gained attention due to his promise of economic reforms and tackling poverty in Edo State, used the opportunity to discuss his vision for the State. He stressed the need for a “civilized and exposed administration” to tackle the issues of poverty, inadequate infrastructure, and corruption, which have plagued the State for years.

“We have been asking for social infrastructure like water, good roads, and electricity for over two decades, and the government has played with the intelligence of the people,” Enabulele said.
He outlined his plans to revive the long-abandoned Ambrose Alli Manifesto, focusing on education, industrialization, urbanisation, and housing.

In addition to economic relief and education reform, Enabulele highlighted the need for vocational programmes to tackle youth unemployment. He called for a shift from reliance on university degrees to skill-based training in order to empower the youth and drive economic growth.

Answering question about his chances in the election, Enabulele says he remains optimistic despite the popularity of other major parties. “It’s not about popularity; it’s about leadership that can navigate the complexities of this land,” he said, adding that the State is in dire need of leaders who can address the root causes of poverty and mismanagement.

The Accord Party candidate, endorsed by the SDP, promises to offer a fresh perspective to governance in Edo State, focused on inclusivity and competence.
