The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo North Correspondents, have presented an Award of Merit to Hon. Dekeri Anamero, popularly known as “Danco”, the representative of Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The ceremony took place yesterday, with the NUJ Edo North Correspondents’ Chairman, Mr. Mac Donald, leading the presentation on behalf of the Union. The award recognises Hon. Anamero’s contributions to the development of his constituency and his dedication to public service.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Anamero expressed his gratitude for the recognition.
“I want to thank the leadership of NUJ Edo North for this award. It is a great honour, and I promise to continue the good work I am doing for the betterment of my people and humanity at large,” he said.
Hon. Anamero also used the opportunity to address questions concerning his recent suspension by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Etsako East local government executives. He described the situation as guided by the party’s constitution and reaffirmed his focus on serving his constituents.
“My party is governed by a constitution, and I respect that. Right now, my primary focus is to deliver the dividends of democracy to my people. For me, there is no sacrifice too great for the people you care about. I want to assure everyone in Etsako that we are on this journey together, striving for a better Etsako,” he stated.
The NUJ Edo North Correspondents commended Hon. Anamero’s efforts in fostering development and his commitment to improving the lives of the people in his constituency. The award signifies the Union’s recognition of his impactful contributions and dedication to public service.
The event was attended by members of the NUJ, political associates, and well-wishers, marking yet another milestone in Hon. Anamero’s public service career.
