Founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, Chris Oyakhilome, has opened up on a painful period in his family life after his second daughter, Charlene Oyakhilome, reportedly became paralysed as a child.
The cleric disclosed that doctors informed the family that Charlene might never walk again after she suddenly lost the ability to use her legs at the age of four.
Pastor Chris shared the emotional testimony while recounting one of the most difficult moments his family had ever faced, explaining that rather than organising a public healing crusade for his daughter, he chose to spend time daily speaking words of faith concerning her recovery.
According to him, the incident happened suddenly in his presence after he noticed Charlene struggling to climb steps at home.
“My younger daughter became four years old. She became suddenly crippled. She could not walk. She could not walk. It happened in my presence,” he said.
The preacher explained that another pastor who was nearby initially thought the child had merely fallen and encouraged her to stand up and walk, but he quickly sensed something was seriously wrong when she remained on the floor and began moving like a baby.
He added that despite years of conducting healing crusades and ministry activities, the situation deeply challenged him personally as a father.
Further details obtained by this online newspaper revealed that Charlene was later taken to the hospital by her mother for medical examination, while concern reportedly grew after they remained at the hospital for several hours.
Pastor Chris recalled eventually speaking with the attending doctor, who allegedly informed him that the child might never walk again.
The cleric said he and his wife then began consistently praying and speaking healing over their daughter’s body daily.
According to him, he repeatedly locked himself inside his office making declarations concerning Charlene’s bones, tendons, ligaments and muscles.
“She’ll walk again, she’ll jump. She’ll walk, she’ll jump,” he recalled declaring repeatedly.
He stated that he spoke those words daily, sometimes thousands of times, while refusing to accept thoughts of permanent disability.
Pastor Chris explained that his faith was rooted in biblical teachings about speaking to situations and believing for change, insisting that Christians should actively apply God’s word rather than constantly begging for miracles.
Narrating the emotional turning point, the preacher said Charlene eventually managed to stand on her feet again, although her legs reportedly bent backwards.
“Until one day she stood. She didn’t walk, she stood. The legs carried her but they bent backwards in a terrible way.
“I shouted, ‘Nooooo, don’t stand that way.’ She said, ‘Daddy I can’t.’ I said, ‘YOU CAN!’ And she fell down,” he recounted.
