Afrobeats superstar David Adedeji Adeleke has taken a swipe at governor Monday Okpebholo, posting what is claimed to be the governor’s WAEC result just hours after the Edo governor mocked Ademola Adeleke for “always dancing.”

The social media exchange followed comments attributed to Governor Okpebholo, who allegedly criticised Governor Adeleke—Davido’s uncle—for focusing more on dancing than governance.

In a swift response, Davido shared on his Instagram Stories an image purported to be Governor Okpebholo’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result. The document, which quickly went viral, allegedly showed several low grades, with many social media users claiming it contained multiple D7 and E8 scores.

The singer did not accompany the post with any caption, but the move was widely interpreted as a direct response to the governor’s remarks.

The online exchange has since fuelled intense reactions across social media, with users reviving a trending slogan aimed at the Edo governor.

“It is better to dance for four years than to have only one credit in WAEC all your life,” the viral phrase reads.

The latest war of words has added a fresh political twist to the growing rivalry between supporters of the two governors, with the debate spilling onto social media and generating widespread public attention.

Neither Governor Okpebholo nor his media team had publicly responded to Davido’s post at the time of filing this report.
